About Us

The Gottesfeld-Hohler Memorial Foundation (GOHO) began in 1984 to promote research and education in OB/GYN ultrasound. The Foundation welcomes practicing physicians and sonographers, offering education seminars geared toward everyday practice of obstetric and gynecologic ultrasound.

For more than 25 years, the GOHO annual conference in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida has featured leading experts in ultrasound, offering clinical discussions in a small classroom setting. There is ample opportunity for direct conversation with the faculty.

More recently, GOHO developed a free, hands-on training course for any second-year OB/GYN resident from an accredited program in the United States or Canada. That course takes place at Carl Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City.

History

The Foundation is named in memory of Kenneth Gottesfeld, M.D. and Charles Hohler, M.D., two pioneers in OB/GYN ultrasound who were prolific teachers in their too-short careers.

Over the years the GOHO Memorial Foundation has

Conducted a think tank on the future of OB/GYN ultrasound, setting the agenda for research
Distributed seed grants for young investigators in OB/GYN ultrasound
Supported the Society for Maternal Fetal Medicine (SMFM) first-year fellow retreat program
Supported the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine

The Foundation is supported through monies raised at continuing medical education (CME) programs. All faculty at our courses work as volunteers.
